As our many regular – and new – customers here in Western Australia may already appreciate, our aim is always to provide the fastest possible service and the
best possible prices. However, things do happen which are outside of our control.

As you’ll probably know, or maybe you don’t, the state government has introduced an ongoing series of price hikes to landfill levy rates, and this started on New Year’s Day 2015.

Without turning into statistical nerds, we thought we’d give you a sample of what’s happening. Looking at the approximate inert rate per tonne (one cubic metre of inert waste in situ within the landfill is treated as 1.5 tonnes), the levy at the end of last year was $8. Now it’s $40. By July 2019, this will further have increased to $70 – almost a ninefold increase.

Now, we’ve got better things to do with our time than enter into a lengthy debate about the rights and wrongs of this action – it is what it is. Here at Melville Bin Hire, customers have noted an increase in the costs we have to charge for areas such as skip bin prices – although we believe we still provide truly cheap skip bin hire, compared to the overall marketplace. We thought we’d be straight up and that you’d like to know precisely why we have had to take this course of action – and not simply hope you wouldn’t notice, like some folks might try.

Of course, price is only one factor when you choose your supplier of residential or commercial skips. To be honest, it’s often not the key consideration for many of our regular customers. They want to know that what they want will be supplied when it should be, ready to deal with that household clean-up, green or other garden waste removal. There’s no use steeling yourself to finally brave your way into the hinterland that is your garage, only to find that your means of disposal of all those accumulated years of junk hasn’t arrived.

We also generally supply our bins on a seven-day hire, unless other arrangements are requested. This means that, if there are any delays to your clean-up project, then you have a few days clear to get everything done and dusted.

You’ll find all the details about bin sizes, prices and how to book a bin here on our website. Of course, if there’s anything you’d like to discuss, simply call us now on 9331 6916 for a straight-talking conversation about how we provide both a reliable service and cheap skip bins for Perth Metro areas and south of the river locations.
