1800 GET BIN (08 9331 6916) Time : 7AM to 5PM, MON TO FRI, SAT 8AM to 11AM

You need to discard a lot of household ‘stuff’ but you don’t have a trailer or a Ute, or even a station wagon. And you don’t have a friend who can help you out.

Well, actually, you do. It’s us: the team at Melville Bin Hire. We’ll deliver a skip bin to you.

If you have never used a skip bin service, our friendly staff at Melville Bin Hire will evaluate how much space will be needed for the types of items you’ve decided to throw out. We have the experience and know how to help you arrive at the right decision.

Right size and budget friendly

We often get asked for just a small skip bin for a general home clean up and throw out, and almost invariably we have found the best size is our four cubic metre bin with drop-down door. It is equivalent to four standard trailers or 16 wheelie bins.

As Melville Bin Hire is extremely competitive, we will give you a budget friendly quote.

With the decision made to go ahead with emptying your home of unwanted items (let’s not call it trash), the other consideration is how to make efficient and safe use of the space in the skip bin.

Unwanted household furniture can be discarded. Sofas, chairs, tables, beds, home office furniture, any unwanted toys, tables, chairs, beds, home office furniture, books, can all be placed in the skip bin.

Hazardous items

If you have any doubts about some of the gear you want to discard, give us a call at Melville Bin Hire and we can talk you through the do’s and don’ts of which items can be placed in the skip bin you have hired.

Keep in mind nothing of a hazardous nature can be placed in the skip bin. Nor can items that can putrefy, such as used nappies and food waste. Electronic waste is now deemed hazardous. Please discuss with us, if you need to dispose of computers or televisions, or other electronic equipment, including appliances such as vacuum cleaners

How to pack and stack

Don’t overfill your skip bin. There will be a mark inside the bin that shows you where to stop when filling it. This is important, as under Australian Occupational Health and Safety rulings, we are not allowed to lift and remove an overfilled bin.

Taking the time to pack and stack is the surest way to make the most of your skip bin. Big items go in first. Big, smaller, and smallest should be stacked carefully and in ascending order up to the level where you have to stop.

Quick delivery, easy pick up

Delivering a Melville Bin Hire skip bin to your site and picking it up is usually quick and easy.

Working in the south and south-eastern suburbs of Perth, permission from local governments to place skip bins is rarely needed. But in some cases, if space is a problem or vehicle access could be affected, you may need to gain the cooperation of your neighbours.

You can order your skip bin online, or contact us to discuss your requirements or place your order.
